Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. The Bulk Material Handling group of Fluor’s Mining and Metals business line is involved in all aspects of design, engineering, and construction of large-scale belt conveyors, crushing and screening stations, bulk material storage and reclaim solutions, rail loading and unloading facilities.

This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence.

This position serves as an Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs complex to difficult engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies advanced engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments.

• Developing material handling design of crushing and screening facilities - selecting and sizing equipment;

• Sizing storage stockpiles and bins and designing reclaim arrangements;

• Designing conveyors including performing conveyor calculations and deciding drive and take-up details;

• Developing and reviewing various material handling equipment specifications, including material handling design criteria;

• Reviewing and approving vendor lists, preparing quotation requests/bid tabulations/purchase orders and reviewing substitutions for technical acceptability;

• Leading the review effort for vendor equipment documentation for purchased equipment;

• Developing, reviewing, and being accountable for project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects;

• Monitoring and managing the scope of work;

• Authorizing trade off study reports which compare technical and commercial aspects culminating in recommendation of an option;

• Incorporating health, safety, and environmental factors in design;

• Reviewing vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seeking discrepancy resolution;

• Other duties as assigned
