Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to manage the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) function to create and sustain a productive work culture and safe work environment in order to avoid and minimize HSE related problems. These problems include but are not limited to prevention of human injury, environmental degradation and unsafe working conditions/practices. This is done through health, safety and environmental training, programs, and processes with a visible and uncompromised commitment to the protection of the environment as well as the productivity of the Company’s employees.

The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall:

• Be responsible for Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Assist with development of project specific Accident Prevention Plans for multiple projects

• Conduct documented routine safety and health inspections

• Conduct weekly documented Toolbox Talks

• Immediately report all Near Misses / Incidents / Injuries to the PM and Site HSE Office

• Conduct Incident / Accident Investigations

• Manage chemical compliance for construction projects

• Develop Corrective Action Plans

• Ensure employees working on site have the necessary safety training to perform the work task

• Participate in daily pre-task safety planning meetings

• Review and approve Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA)

• Maintain safety reference material on the job sites

• Attend the pre-construction conference and any other applicable meeting (or designee)

• Implement and enforce the accepted Accident Prevention Plan

• Manage contractor qualifications and approvals for construction projects

• Ensure sub-contractor compliance with all applicable environmental, safety and health requirements

• Provide guidance, assistance and advice to business lines, project management, and Company organizations through interpretation of Company HSE practices and procedures in relation to client requirements and current legislation and regulations

• Provide input for HSE permit preparation on projects by maintaining specialist knowledge of current guidelines and regulations

• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies

• Regularly coordinate with Fluor HSE Team and Site Safety

• Other duties as assigned
