Job Description:

Installs, tests and repairs grounding systems in accordance with accepted codes, standards and manufacturer’s recommendations. Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials. Provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender. Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by electrician helper. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, using knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps per accepted codes and standards. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, using hand tools. Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools. Connects power cables and ground leads to equipment and other electrical utilization equipment such as motors, HVAC units, etc. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustment, relocation or replacement. May repair faulty equipment or systems.

Journeyman – A skilled craft worker educated in a specific craft, having verifiable minimum experience and/or holds and accepted certification, license and/or degree. Requires minimal supervision.

Prefer: British Electrical Standards (BS);

Required: National Electrical Code (NEC)

Valid, current US State Journeyman or Master license/certification (including testing of the 2008 NEC) as determined to be acceptable to Fluor. The license / certification must be valid for a minimum of one year from the date of deployment.

Manages Non-Tactical Vehicle (NTV) maintenance operations and personnel within assigned AOR, typically at the Country, Deputy Country or similar level. Manages ongoing operational effectiveness; coordinates operations with other groups, personnel and internal client; directs operational planning and ensures the availability of skilled personnel and resources as needed to execute required services in an effective, efficient and timely manner. Manages all Fleet Maintenance (Construction Equipment, Light Motor Vehicles, Power Generation) activities via the Equipment Maintenance team to ensure quality, safety, productivity and equipment up time goals are met. Develops ECOD’s, monitors expenses, open work orders, and manages warranty claims and reimbursement. Monitors all equipment, vehicle and power generation service dispatching, monthly inventory cycle, and inventory reconciliation. Analyzes work practices to improve repair and service effectiveness. Assists in investigations regarding equipment performance and operator error when accidents or near misses occur. Analyzes reports to determine trends within the Service Departments, develops and implements improvement initiatives. Maintains and promotes good employee relations by consistently applying HR, Safety and Quality practices and ensuring that assigned personnel receive appropriate training and development.

Position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions, including lifting and carrying 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. To ensure safety, health, and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand).






Will be required to obtain flight line driver's license to operate vehicles on and around the flight line.

Must possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.
