Fluor Laboratory Specialist I in Afghanistan
Duties includes, but not limited to, conducting quality surveillance testing on aviation and ground fuels. Preparing laboratory for operation's, ensuring testing equipment is on hand, cleaned and functioning properly, ensuring test equipment meets calibration requirements, inventorying chemicals and preparing them for daily use, receiving fuel samples and ensures adequate information is provided on DD Form 2927 and AFTO Form 475 (Air Force) sample tags, logging receipt of samples and prioritize samples for testing. Conduct fuel analysis testing in accordance with ASTM test methods on aviation and ground fuels to include: (API/Density, Electric Conductivity, FSII, Flash Point, PC, Distillation, Freeze Point, Viscosity, Reid Vapor Pressure, Thermal Stability, Cloud Point and Pour Point, Water and Sediment by Centrifuge). Reviewing test results and record test results on DA Form 2077 and provide fuel analysis reports. Maintain HWAP area and insures all waste fuel and chemicals are disposed of IAW applicable HAZMAT directives and procedures. Follow all required safety rules and regulations in performing assigned duties.
Provides specialized laboratory analysis services as assigned. Performs laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards. May serve in a lead role or provide guidance to less experienced personnel as assigned. Determines chemical and physical characteristics or composition. Sets up,
adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments. Performs onsite data collection and monitoring of water systems to meet contractual compliance. Monitors effluent from the wastewater plant system. Performs laboratory testing in compliance with established quality control systems to ensure reliability of results and proper documentation of results.
