Fluor Carpenter Helper I in Afghanistan
Helps in the construction, erection, installation, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard, using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes. Selects specified type of lumber or other materials. Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials, using pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. Shapes materials to prescribed measurements, using saws, chisels and planes. Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue. Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter’s level. Erects framework for structures and lays sub-flooring. Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions. Helper – A non-journey level craft worker, aspiring to gain knowledge and skills at the beginner level. Works directly with either journey or foreman level craft worker. Requires constant supervision. May be referred to as an Apprentice.
