Fluor Jr Construction Team Lead/Facilitator in Oxnard, California

Job Description:

This position provides technical support to craft and supervision on the project. Also supports Quality by providing Quality oversight in their daily activities, as required.

• Perform construction engineering work requiring application of standard construction engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in performing a sequence of related construction engineering tasks

• Assist craftsmen and foreman with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings

• Perform surveillance/examinations, if required, to ensure that the Quality objectives are being met for the project

• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines

• Ability to assume the role of the site Lean Integrated Project Delivery Leader, using Lean management principles with a collaborative, aligned team and contract structure to improve the outcomes of construction projects.

• Review engineering documents, vendor information and final design EI packages as needed with the client, design engineers and others to provide constructability during all phases of the project.

• During project initiation meet with Client & Stork management to establish Core Team and Lean Tools to be used & project strategy for Lean Integrated Project Delivery execution. Document these decisions in the project execution plan Organize and participate in all Partner Selection Activities.

• Set-Up & Organize Project Kick-Offs & Collaborative Design Sessions. Work with Project Core Team to establish agenda / goals and timing of sessions.

• Document all scope changes on a change order prior to the work being performed.

• Monitor the work in the field. Make frequent daily walks in the field to review, monitor, and evaluate the contractor’s progress, performance, quality and compliance to the site safety rules, specific requirements, and procedures

• Organize & lead change management session if it is required.

• Establish & coordinate special deliverables for projects. All projects require a Project Execution Plan, Sourcing Plan, project permit requirements review, project cost tracking, quality monitoring, and turnover packages. Ensure that you fully understand conceptual scope of work. Work with other planners & construction vendors to document all base scope blocks.

• Document all scope changes on a change order prior to the work being performed.

• Stay informed of engineering documents, vendor information and final design EI packages as needed from the client, design engineers and construction during all phases of the project.

• Work with Client, Engineering, and various stakeholders to prioritize and coordinate development efforts to deliver on schedule, ensuring team collaboration, proper planning, execution and timely delivery for the overall success of projects. Communicate with clients and trade partners on schedule, cost, safety, and other project related matters via e-mail and daily contact.

• At the end of each project organize / lead a Learn from Experience to capture learnings / additional wins & losses from the team to be used for continuous improvement. Coordinate release of Project Performance Assessment and collection of data to be entered into Data Management system.

• Prepare Final Project Reports. Hold Project Closing Debrief with Client / Trade Partners
