This position has oversight of a specific area, and acts as a representative to the department ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This is the Lead position on assigned projects or performs engineering assignments of any complexity.

• Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts

• Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts

• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria

• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting

• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of difficult engineering complexity

• Serve as Supervising Lead providing guidance/supervision to other leads and function as mentor to less experienced engineers including performance appraisal input and counseling

• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines

• Other duties as assigned

We are seeking an experienced HSE Design Lead with a background in life sciences to join our dynamic team. As an HSE Design Lead, you will have oversight of a specific area, and act as a representative to the department ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. You will be responsible for overseeing the design process within your area, ensuring compliance with industry standards, managing resources effectively, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs on schedule.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:

•Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of engineers and designers within your assigned area.

•Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment to drive the team's success.

•Set clear objectives, delegate tasks, and monitor progress to ensure project milestones are met.

  1. HSE Design Management:

As directed by the Project Engineering Manager

•Manage the design process, from concept to detail design and construction support, ensuring adherence to life sciences industry regulations and standards.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Construction, Procurement, Contracts, Quality, Project Controls, HSE, HR, IT and CQV, to align design objectives and project requirements.

•Conduct design reviews, identify risks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines, budgets and quality standards.

  1. Technical Expertise:

•Utilize your deep understanding of the HSE Design Principles and life sciences experiences to deliver innovative design solutions.

•Stay updated on the latest advancements and industry best practices related to life sciences and HSE Design.

•Provide technical guidance and support to the team in resolving complex design challenges.

  1. Resource and Project Management:

•Within your assigned area, support development of project plans, allocate resources effectively, and develop/manage project budgets.

•Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and proactively implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure project deliverables are met.

•Collaborate with stakeholders to set project priorities, manage expectations, and provide regular updates on project status.

  1. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

•Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, such as FDA guidelines, ISO standards, and other relevant regulations, throughout the design process.
