Fluor Internal Communications Lead in Kitimat, British Columbia

Job Description:

Position Overview:

• The Internal Communications Lead supports the External Affairs team by developing internal communications strategies and implementing internal communications activities in support of business objectives and strategies.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support External Affairs team with internal communications strategies and activities

• Maintain a positive image for JGC Fluor, LNG Canada, subcontractors, and sub-subcontractors on site and in the community

• Work closely with External Affairs team, project leadership, and functional departments to develop and implement internal communications programs

• Provide support for internal communications content for the project, including but not limited to, presentations, feature stories, talking points, speeches, videos, website and Facebook content, internal SMS system messaging, and other supporting materials

• Lead event coordination for project-based events; including town halls, weekly and monthly meetings, and other internal events

• Support the External Affairs Manager, Project Communications Manager, and client communications team with construction communications

• Coordinate with project leadership (including Construction Management, Health, Safety, Security & Environment, and Human Resources) on communications needs, content, and deliverables

• Liaise with client project communications teams to support client contract requirements for communications

• Assist the External Affairs Manager and the joint venture team on communications in the event of a crisis

• Support weekly and monthly reporting requirements for External Affairs to the client

• Facilitate communications with the site project employees and community as required

• Perform assessments of site communications channels, processes and procedures, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement

• Track and report metrics to demonstrate effectiveness of communications programs

Competencies:

• Stay current on communications best practices and trends and integrate into communications programs

• Leverage internal resources to administer policies and procedures consistently for the project

• Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend and implement appropriate courses of action

• Organize and prioritize a variety of tasks in an effective and timely manner, sets priorities and meets deadlines

• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures and global standards

• Adhere to and support the joint venture's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability policies

• May need to travel to attend to business-related matters

• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality

• Other duties as assigned
