As a Junior material specialist you will be involved in engineering and construction of a large variety of (inter- )national brown field, grass root and revamp facilities. You will be working in a team of diverse engineers, located in several Fluor offices around the globe, in a multi-discipline project environment. For this, well developed communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to work in a collaborative project task force, generating and fostering internal and external client relationships are required.

Depending on the projects and project requirements, personal interests and experience level, you will work on definition of requirements of process installations. The material specialist is responsible for the screening of material degradation mechanisms, selection of materials and coating systems, and definition of the detailed project material specification requirements for metallic and non-metallic materials and coatings..

The Jr material specialist works in the material support group of the mechanical department, consulting all engineering disciplines with materials of construction advise.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Jr. Material Specialist to strengthen our team!

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Development of material selections in cooperation with process engineering

• Writing of material selection reports and corrosion control documents

• Develop specifications for equipment materials and coating requirements

• Assist mechanical engineers in development of equipment purchase specifications

• Review of supplier drawings and documents

• Assisting mechanical engineers in clarification of requirements and close out of inspection quality observations

• Coordinate with engineering management and Client peers .
