Job Description:

To expand our team we are looking for an AWP Lead in our Construction department. The role will support initially in home office with project set up,and follow to site.

The overall objective of this position is ensuring an effective Advanced workpackaging program is being used on the projects in accordance with the AWP Implementation Plan and with relevant WFP contract attachment requirements.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Common Responsibilities

• To drive an AWP mindset and values throughout all stages of the project with all members of the project team

• Educate all members to align them with Fluor’s AWP practices and procedures

• To meet the position Objectives and Key Performance Indicators

• To be personally responsible for ‘Zero Incident & Injuries’

Program Setup and Support:

• Establish an AWP mindset within the project

• Get involved with the project team as an essential key team member

• Deploy, maintain, and ensure update of the AWP project specific procedure as the project evolves

• Ensure that the AWP procedure are implemented effectively by all project stakeholders

• Attend project leadership meetings to provide input and insight on AWP program performance, deliverables, and requirements

• Engage with and influence other departments activities to ensure that AWP requirements are incorporated in project delivery efforts

• Identify AWP program risks and mitigate them accordingly

• Establish AWP team metrics and measure performance

• Generate AWP program performance reports and distribute to the project team

• Identify program improvement opportunities and pursue optimisation efforts

• Prepare contractors for their WFP requirements through bid questions, attachments and training

Team Support:

• Develop staffing plans and manage those plans over the project duration

• Manage the AWP/WFP Team organisational assignments

• Ensure the implementation and update of roles and responsibilities documents for AWP/WFP team members to support the needs of the project

• Work with project human resource teams to recruit, pre-qualify, and interview a AWP/WFP team

• Effectively onboard new Workface planning team members to quickly make them contributing members to the program

• Ensure that AWP/WFP team members and site contractors have completed requisite training, including technical and project specific training

Program Effectiveness:

• Provide input to the Path of Construction development efforts

• Ensure alignment between the Path of Construction and Path of Engineering; where alignment is lacking, identify risks and work with the leadership team to mitigate

• Oversee AWP department activities and deliverables to ensure alignment and accountability to project expectations

• Regularly audit AWP deliverables to ensure quality of output

• Coordinate with other project departments to ensure that AWP activities and deliverables are supporting project delivery needs

• Manage requests for AWP procedure deviation; make decisions to support the requirements of AWP while employing practical reasoning to support the needs of the project

Safety:

Project safety will remain at the forefront of the AWP Manager’s responsibilities. The AWP Manager must promote and display a safe work culture and be accountable for identifying safety requirements for inclusion in all aspects of the AWP program. They are expected to have a management level knowledge of project safety policies as well as industry standards. They will be active participants in the project safety program, and will:

• Ensure that AWP team members have a functional working knowledge of project and industry safe work requirements, best practices, and legislation

• Ensure that AWP team members have completed the project specific and industry health and safety training required for their role

• Ensure the AWP team effectively identifies specific risks associated with planned activities and calls out appropriate measures for safe execution

• Perform periodic safety reviews and audits with their team members for cold-eyes perspectives and coaching and mentoring opportunities
