Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. This position has oversight of a specific area and acts as a representative of the department in ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position may have the responsibility to serve as Design Lead on assigned projects or perform moderate to difficult complexity design assignments.

• Report to Engineering Management and act as the overall space planner, space manager, and quality controller for the 3D model from a technical design perspective.

• Interface with all design disciplines, including design leads and engineering, to create and maintain work areas per discipline and per building.

• Develop and issue space management plans for each major area during the basic design phase.

• Work with Engineering Management to develop model management plans, model maturity matrices, and model review frameworks.

• Periodically quality control the 3D model, conduct model readiness audits, and lead internal design reviews/model reviews with inter-discipline teams, ensuring consistency of approach across areas.

• Perform visual clash management during the basic design phase and participate in clash resolutions after active/electronic clash management begins.

• Participate in external design reviews/model reviews with inter-discipline teams or serve as backup for a Node Project Engineer.

• Interface with BIM Manager and BIM Coordinator.

• Interface with client Engineering Management and Node Leads as needed.

• Interface with design contractors as needed, including kick-off meetings and explaining model management/space management plans.

• Assist with training team members in space management and model review best practices.

• Adhere to industry codes and standards

• Model Review Responsibilities: may be assigned by the Manager as the lead to develop, coordinate, and guide the entire Model Review effort. Other task force assignees are involved as needed for input of information. The Model Review Leader leads the discussion, referring to the plot plan, P&IDs, and other relevant documents. Participants of the review also have copies of the documents/drawings being reviewed for easy reference to details.
