Fluor Senior Designer/Drafter in Greenville, South Carolina
Designer/drafter to assist and support various disciplines for US government department of defense (DOD) and department of energy (DOE) facilities as well as commercial nuclear power generation facilities. Responsible for design and drafting activities, and material take-off in accordance with established policies, procedures, and applicable work practices. Additional responsibilities include:
3D layout of complex scope
Conduct review of model using 3D review platform and create 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity
Apply project drawing standards to design drawings and 3D layout
Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of advanced complexity
Prepare layouts and/or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of advanced complexity
Check work done by other Designers
Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects
Develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, and key quantities tracking reports
Adherence to Quality Assurance programs
Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design
Review supplier drawings for information relative to design of government and commercial nuclear facilities.
Review fabricator drawings
Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations
Provide assistance, as requested, in the areas of schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, and procurement activities
Assist in the development of department standards and procedures
Identify, analyze, and resolve problems
Provide construction and commissioning support with occasional site visits.
Support proposal development and required estimating
Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
Participate in people development through mentoring of less experienced Designers including performance appraisal input and counseling
Support Key Process Owner and Department Manger on initiatives
Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
Other duties as assigned
Position will require occasional travel and potential for planned and unplanned overtime to meet project schedules.
