Job Description:

Based in Farnborough, Hampshire, Fluor Limited is the UK operating arm of Fluor Corporation, one of the world's largest publicly traded engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction (EPFC) and maintenance Companies offering integrated solutions for clients’ complex and challenging projects.

From this office we undertake world class projects in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, Nuclear, Industrial, Transportation, Telecommunications, Power, Mining and Government sectors working for clients including major oil and gas companies, national oil companies, major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, governments, private investors and industrial companies.

To help us continue to grow our existing business and meet an exciting range of new project opportunities, we are expanding our leadership and technical teams in Farnborough across engineering, material management, contracts and project controls.

The successful Project Engineer will under general supervision perform assigned general duties of broader scope and responsibility and may be delegated a moderate to high level of independent authority.

At this level the successful candidate may be the only project engineer with full responsibility for all general duties on a small project, or assigned particular responsibility for general duties on a medium sized or more complex segment of a larger project.

The purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities that are in compliance with the contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability of the completed project.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

o Performs basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of project issues and problems.

o Assures compliance with established safety policies and procedures and practices safe work habits throughout all phases of the project.

o Assists in management and coordination of activities among all project functions and engineering disciplines in accordance with the established Project baseline.

o Supports efforts of technical disciplines to assure integrated and complete designs that meet project requirements.

o Assists in creation and coordination of overall project plans and schedules, and monitor activities, progress, and milestones.

o Assists in creation and coordination of project manhour and cost estimates and budgets, and monitors progress and cost performance against these.

o Prepares project procedures for performance of administrative, project, and design tasks in accordance with contractual obligations.

o Identifies and evaluates issues and events that may constitute an increase or decrease in project or service scope, cost, or schedule.

o Prepares documentation for meetings or communications concerning project contractual or technical issues.


o An accredited degree/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

o Proven work-related experience within the related field

o Experience that includes the performance of functional tasks on EPCM type projects with an understanding of procedures and interfaces

o Strong interpersonal skills

o Willingness to travel
