Role Summary

Global Indirect Procurement is a corporate support function for Fluor offices around the world. This role is responsible for all non-project related Contracts and Purchases for the UK and reports directly into Fluor Head Office, Houston. The Global Indirect Procurement team communicates with management and counterparts in other offices to collaborate and streamline processes that can benefit and reduce Fluor’s bottom line spend.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the whole of the UK Indirect spend and reports directly to the Supervisor based in the Amsterdam office with weekly update conference calls.

Indirect Procurement is still a relatively new concept and has been running for approximately 2.5 years in the UK offices. It therefore still has the ability to be developed further with ideas for streamlining, expansion and innovation.

Principle Job Duties & Responsibilities

Build and maintain relationships with internal customers and suppliers.

Relationship management, including senior Fluor management and suppliers.

Responsible for Corporate Procurement including but not limited to; IT Equipment, Building Maintenance Services, Furniture, Marketing Purchases, Office Supplies, Certification Bodies, Building fit-out works and Training.

Maintain the highest ethical standards of Supply Chain professional responsibility.

For larger purchases / Contracts, a full tendering process is to be followed; Request For Quotation, Shortlist, Negotiations, Recommendation For Award, PO placement/Contract implementation, Post PO/Contract management.

Liaise with internal customers to ensure correct goods/services are procured.

Prepare Purchase Orders / Purchase Order Amendments for one off purchases.

Prepare Contracts / Contract Modifications for services.

Negotiate with suppliers to ensure best possible price, cost and delivery is achieved.

Ensure Orders are placed on time and in time to meet agreed milestones.

Ensure Purchase Orders placed are closely monitored and expedited to avoid any unnecessary delays.

Control and release Invoices for payment when all contractual obligations are fulfilled.

Raise Intercompany Purchase Orders for various Projects.

Generate and report cost savings.

Responsible for an overall annual spend of approximately £15million.

Plan and organise own workload.

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:

Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with SAP software desirable.

Experience of working in a Supply Chain environment essential.

Basic knowledge of contract types and terms.

Studying towards CIPS Qualification desirable, but not essential.

Good interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.

Willing to learn.

Good decision making skills.

Ability to work in a team as well as under own initiative.

Ability to multi task and prioritise activities.

High level of organisational skills.
