To enable us to meet challenging new markets and existing client demands, we now have an opportunity for a suitably qualified junior Metallurgist / Welding engineer to work as a member of a multi disciplinary team of engineers. This opportunity is long term and offers great career development.

Junior Metallurgist

Working under supervision of senior metallurgist / welding engineer, responsibilities include materials selection and the development of project specifications relating to materials and corrosion control, welding, mechanical design, cathodic protection, corrosion monitoring, coatings and insulation, non-destructive testing and fabrication, however the candidate will be supported to gain the knowledge and experience in the areas that are needed.

Ensure appropriate materials of construction are selected for the engineered process units that are designed and manufactured under Fluor's responsibility.

As a member of the Mechanical Group, support other disciplines in the detailed material selection of components, in particular, working closely with the process engineers selecting materials deemed necessary for an appropriate corrosion resistance to the applicable service in the process system.

Have involvement and input in discussions with clients and/or selected process licensors.
