Here at Fluor Limited we are now commencing our 2019 Graduate recruitment process and are currently seeking Graduate Electrical Engineers to join our Headquarters in Farnborough, Hampshire.

Fluor Limited is the UK operating arm of Fluor Corporation, one of the world's largest engineering, procurement, construction and project management services companies.

If you have a minimum 2:1 MEng/MSc Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, then this could be an excellent opportunity to apply your degree in the Electrical Engineering Department.

Electrical engineering responsibilities fall into five general categories:

• Support to project proposals and business development

• Development of electrical designs

• Support of equipment and material procurement and detailed engineering design

• Support to work in construction, including plant commissioning

• Management and organization of all project activities

During the early part of a graduate’s career they will mainly be involved with development of electrical designs and supporting detailed engineering. The main activities in these two areas are:

• Participate in the development of the Electrical Load Lists and Single Line Diagrams

• Become familiar with Hazardous Areas

• Become familiar with hazardous area equipment and ATEX requirements

• Become familiar with Codes and Standards

• Perform and check the most routine types of calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual design techniques

• Utilize vendor data and work with personnel in other disciplines as required for the performance of designs

• Perform squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines. Assist Lead Engineer, as required

• Become familiar with the Knowledge Community and other Fluor standards and procedures

• Participate in general training programs and Fluor activities

Our Graduates

The work during the first 4 years of the graduate programme is designed to meet the requirements of the Institution of Engineering and Technology leading towards corporate membership of the Institution and Chartered Engineer status once the necessary competences are achieved. The work will be primarily electrical engineering and design activities carried out in our office in Farnborough, but we do look for opportunities to have trainees travel to project sites, or be based there for a period of time.

The Office

Fluor’s Farnborough campus is a state-of-the-art complex situated close to two rail way stations. Our campus accommodates around 1,800 people and includes undercover parking, landscaped grounds with outdoor seating areas, a central coffee shop, subsidised restaurant and good access to local shopping and transportation networks. A shuttle bus service operates between the local stations and is also available at lunchtimes for trips to local shopping centres.
