Fluor Estimator III in Dallas, Texas

Job Description:

Responsible for providing engineering, procurement and maintenance cost estimates for a power plant. Estimates must be in a consistent format and from a consistent database. Position will also be responsible for compiling historical information for future application and comparisons in a timely manner while ensuring that all information is reconcilable to source data.

  • Develop, implement and maintain a consistent estimating format for cost estimates.

  • Perform feasibility, conceptual and definition grade estimates as appropriate utilizing the existing database, vendor budgetary quotes or historical data.

  • Compile and present Fluor estimating data in a usable format for use by other team members.

  • Compile data from other sources into the overall estimate

  • Perform cost studies and analysis as required

  • Develop estimate basis (i.e. scope) as appropriate

  • Follow established work procedures

  • Take ownership of the estimating work process

  • Work to schedules and timelines.

  • Self-check of his/her work and that of subordinates, if applicable, to ensure accuracy

  • Coordinate information exchange between the Engineering, Purchasing and Construction groups

  • Participate in the development of the Project Execution Plan, estimate basis and procedures

  • Assemble and maintain estimate cost volumes.

  • Strong math and analytical skills

  • Microsoft Excel, Access database expert user level

  • Microsoft Word expert user level

  • Construction or estimating background

  • Organization and communication skills

  • Pervious proposal preparation experience

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in related industry and function
