Fluor SCA Carpenter, Maintenance I in Aurora, Colorado
The purpose of this position is to construct, install, and repair metal stud framing, drywall hanging and finishing, acoustical ceiling installation.
Examines blueprints and determines dimensions of structure, layout and construct light gauge metal framing
Hang, tape, finish, and sand new drywall, and patch, texture, and paint drywall from repair work to complete room remodels
Layout and install acoustical ceiling grid and install acoustical ceiling tile
Install ceramic tile
Perform the carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork, equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, and doors, and systems furniture such as Steelcase, Haworth and Novalink
Plan and lay out of task from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter’s hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments, and making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, then selecting materials necessary for the task
Assists in the construction, erection, installation, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard, using carpenter’s hand and power tools while conforming to local building codes and selecting specified type of lumber or other materials
Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials, using pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
Shapes materials to prescribed measurements, using saws, chisels, and planes
Assembles cut and/or shaped materials, and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue
Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter’s level
Install and repair doors, frames, locks, and door hardware
Erects framework for structures and lays sub-flooring
Builds stairs and lays out/installs partitions

* Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI Polygraph *
Ability to adhere to all safety guidelines
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Position may be located in a wide variety of environments, from conventional indoor office workspace to project worksites with harsh, working and living conditions. Position requires the basic skills and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
