Job Description:

This position is primarily involved in work in the computer field performing systems analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, or modification of computer systems or programs.

The position exercises discretion and judgment.

The Associate Specialist I has entry level knowledge within designated Information Technology (IT) area of responsibility that is applied to specific assignments. This role executes assigned tasks and collaborates on IT projects while exhibiting consistent, current knowledge of new technologies, and platforms.

• Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and contribute ideas within your scope of knowledge.

• Assist team members in various phases of software projects, gaining exposure to tasks such as coding, testing, and deployment.

• Participate in basic project coordination activities, gaining exposure to the overall project lifecycle.

• Learn to identify and report technical issues, seeking guidance from more experienced team members.

• Assist in maintaining basic documentation related to software development processes, coding standards, and procedures.

• Communicate effectively within the team, providing updates on assigned tasks and seeking guidance as needed.

• Learn and adhere to basic coding standards, security protocols, and best practices in software development.

• Plan and organize work assignments and carry out tasks from management staff.

• Engage in foundational learning of programming languages, frameworks, and tools relevant to enterprise application development.

• Actively participate in continuous learning opportunities, staying informed about industry basics and best practices.

• Attend training programs to build foundational technical skills and gain exposure to enterprise software development concepts.

• Promote, encourage and model Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) principles across employees and contractors

• Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and regulations, such as data privacy and cybersecurity standards.

• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.

• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job.

• May need to travel to attend to business related matters.
